Visa H-1B

For Specialized Occupations

Overview

The H-1B visa is designed for professionals in specialized fields such as technology, healthcare, engineering, and education.

The H-1B visa is one of the most sought-after options for highly skilled professionals who want to work in the United States. This visa allows individuals with expertise in areas like IT, engineering, medicine, finance, and other technical fields to work in the U.S. under the sponsorship of an American employer. Due to high demand, the selection process includes an annual lottery and strict eligibility criteria.

To qualify, you must have a job offer from a U.S. company that demonstrates the need for hiring foreign talent. The employer must offer a salary that meets the prevailing wage for your position and location. The visa is initially granted for three years, with the possibility of extending up to six years, and it may serve as a pathway to permanent residency (Green Card).

Key Requirements:

A job offer from a U.S. employer in a specialized field
At least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Labor Condition Application (LCA) certified by the U.S. Department of Labor

Benefits of the H-1B Visa:

Valid for 3 years, renewable for up to 6 years
Dependents (spouse and children under 21) may apply for H-4 visas
Can be processed from within the U.S. or abroad
Possible pathway to permanent residency through employment-based Green Card categories (e.g., EB-2 or EB-3)
