EB-2 Visa
For Professionals with Advanced Degrees and/or Exceptional Ability
Overview
The EB-2 visa is for professionals with advanced degrees or exceptional abilities. It offers a path to permanent residency, particularly for healthcare professionals, academics, scientists, and highly skilled workers.
The EB-2 visa is ideal for individuals holding a master’s or doctoral degree—or those who can demonstrate exceptional ability in fields like science, technology, business, or education. Unlike many other employment-based visas, the EB-2 allows self-petitioning through the National Interest Waiver (NIW) if you can prove your work significantly benefits the United States.
To qualify, you must present documentation of your expertise and achievements, such as scientific publications, awards, participation in high-impact projects, or advanced certifications. Most applicants will need a job offer and labor certification; however, the NIW waives this requirement for eligible candidates.
